$722 of $65,000 raised
SummaryDelicious Spoonfuls is focused on training and employing people with Special Needs including Autism and Down Syndrome, in a Food Truck. They will be serving coffees, ice creams, ices (pre-made), and pastries for the local consumers. There is no cooking planned on the truck. Delicious Spoonfuls will be able to always employ 2 people in the truck, with additional help outside the truck at larger events.
ChallengeThe number of unemployed people with Special Needs in Florida is staggering! Organizations like Vocational Rehabilitation and CareerSource have many people that are employable but are unable to find the appropriate setting. MagnifyFund plans to help in a small way, as a model.
SolutionDelicious Spoonfuls plans to open 50 hours a week. That would be two "shifts" per day with some of their prospective employees only able to work a few hours per week due to their disabilities and restrictions with Social Security and other government programs. We will be able to work with their scheduling. We also plan on a few volunteers to work as coaches for those employees that need one on one help, outside the limited space of the truck.
