For every human being to develop his or her potential, basic conditions are necessary in the gestation period and early childhood. Among these conditions, adequate nutrition and early stimulation are essential.
In rural communities in southern Honduras, poverty levels reach 89% of households making children vulnerable to malnutrition, which affects the first thousand days of life and leaves irreparable consequences. (1000 days = 280 days of gestation + 720 of the first two years).
The AgrolĂbano Foundation implements the Comprehensive Care for Early Childhood Program, with the aim of contributing to the integral development of children under 6 years of age, promoting factors related to human rights, education, health and nutrition, which favor their growth and development, with the participation of the family, the school and the community.
